Alexander Doull was born in Thurso, Caithness, and served during the Great War with the 8th (Service) Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders. He was killed in action on the Western Front, 19 September 1916. On the latter date the Battalion were serving as part of the 44th Brigade, 15th (Scottish) Division on the Somme.

Private Doull is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.

Archibald Todd was a native of Thornhill, Dumfries, and served during the Great War with the 7/8th Battalion, King’s Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in action on the Western Front, 17 September 1918, and is buried in St. Mary’s A.D.S. Cemetery, Haisnes, France.

The McCallum’s are believed to be brothers.
