David Martyn Thomson was born in New Monkland, Lanarkshire. He served during the Great War with the 14th (Service) Battalion, Highland Light Infantry and died on the Western Front, 1 January 1918. Thomson is buried in the Achiet-Le-Grand Communal Cemetery Extension, Pas de Calais, France.
