Philip William MacKay served during the Great War with the Royal Highlanders from 14 September 1916. He advanced to Lieutenant in April 1917.
George Adam Murray was born in Towidon, Kincardineshire. He served during the Great War with the 8th (Service) Battalion, Royal Highlanders, and was killed in action on the Western Front, 28 September 1917. Private Murray is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
