Albert James Fairfield was born in Derby and attested for the North Staffordshire Regiment at Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Transferring to the West Yorkshire Regiment, he served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion on the Western Front. Advanced Acting Sergeant, he was killed in action on 29 June 1918; he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial, France.

Jack Desmond Hinton was born in Thornton Heath, Surrey, and attested for the Huntingdonshire Cyclist Corps. Transferring to the West Yorkshire Regiment, he served during the Great War with the 1st/5th Battalion on the Western Front, and was killed in action on 25 April 1918. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
