William Falconer Mitchell was born in Aberdeen and attested for the Royal Army Medical Corps at Perth. He served with the R.A.M.C. during the Great War on both the Western Front and in Italy, and died in the latter theatre on 19 August 1917. He is buried in Taranto Town Cemetery Extension, Italy.
