Frederick Charles Proctor was born on 14 March 1896, and entered the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve on 14 April 1914. He was advanced to Able Seaman on 15 September 1914, and joined the Howe Battalion on 28 October following.

Sold with copied R.N.D. record card which confirms 1914 Star and indicates that he was a survivor of H.M.S.
Alcantara’s action with S.M.S. Greif on 29 February 1916, in which both ships were sunk.
