Walton John Beake was born in Bristol, Somerset, in December 1878. He resided in Clevedon and was employed by J. H. Woodington, Clevedon Boot Works prior to the Great War. Beake attested for the 2nd Wessex Field Company, Royal Engineers at Weston-super-Mare, 5 August 1914, and served with them in the French theatre of war from 22 December 1914. He subsequently served with the unit in Mesopotamia and Salonika.

William Card was born in Clevedon, and served during the Great War with the 1st Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry. He was killed in action on the Western Front, 6 February 1915, and is buried in the Ploegsteert Wood Military Cemetery, Belgium.

Victor Charles Binding was born in Clevedon, and served during the Great War with the 1/4th (City of Bristol) Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment (T.F.) in the French theatre of war from 31 March 1915 (entitled to 1914-15 Star). He was killed in action on the Western Front, 9 October 1917, and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, Belgium.

William Frank Pike was born in Clevedon, in March 1898. He enlisted in the Royal Marines at Bristol, in December 1915. Subsequent service included with the battleship H.M.S. Malaya, November 1916 - February 1920. Pike was discharged ‘on compassionate grounds’, 17 February 1920.

William George Reed was born in Bath, Somerset. He resided in Clevedon, and served during the Great War with the 7th (Service) Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry. Reed was killed in action on the Western Front, 17 August 1917, and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, Belgium.
