Thomas Henry Miller was commissioned Lieutenant (Quartermaster), Royal Engineers, on 11 January 1941, and served with the Royal Engineers during the Second World War. He was twice Mentioned in Despatches ‘in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in the Middle East’ (London Gazettes 15 December 1942 and 13 January 1944), and was promoted Captain. He died at Tyne-on-Tees, Co. Durham on 19 October 1944, and is buried under a C.W.G.C. headstone in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (All Saints) Cemetery, Northumberland.
