Herbert George Bromley was born in West Ham, London, and served in the City of London Volunteer Artillery. He served with the 28th (Bedfordshire) Company Imperial Yeomanry in South Africa during the Boer War, and died of Enteric Fever at Kroonstad, 19 May 1901.
