Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State (16515 Pte. H. Long. 53rd. Coy. Imp: Yeo:) edge bruise, very fine £100-£140

Harold Long was born in Hythe Kent, and attested for the Imperial Yeomanry at Canterbury on 7 February 1900. He served with the 53rd (Royal East Kent) Company, 14th Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry in South Africa during the Boer War from 30 March to 14 September 1900, and was wounded in the hand and stomach near Kroonstad on 11 June 1900. He was discharged at his own request on 28 December 1900, after 325 days’ service.
