Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 1 clasp, Alexandria 11th July (W. E. Daniels W. R. Svt. H.M.S. ‘Penelope.”) light pitting, otherwise good very fine £120-£160

William Edward Daniels was born at 5 Coast Guard Buildings, Harwich, Essex in June 1862, and was the son of R. G. Daniels, who was a Boatman for the Coast Guard. He joined the Royal Navy as a Domestic 3rd Class in November 1878. Subsequent service included as a Ward Room Servant in H.M.S. Penelope, May 1879 - May 1887. Daniels was discharged in May 1889, and died in Harwich, 9 December 1943.
