Canada General Service 1866-70, 1 clasp, Fenian Raid 1866 (Pte. G. Lanning, 1:16 Regt.) impressed naming, with top silver brooch bar, nearly extremely fine £260-£300

Provenance: Dix Noonan Webb, September 2003.

George Lanning was born in Poplar, London and attested for the 16th Regiment in 1861, aged 14 years. He served with the Regiment in Canada from 1861 to 1870, and transferred to the Royal Artillery in 1872. He was discharged in 1882 on completion of his second period of limited engagement.
