India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Chin-Lushai 1889-90 (702 Pte. C. Daly. 1st. Bn. K.O. Sco. Bord.) number partially officially corrected, edge bruising, very fine £160-£200

Cornelius Daly was born in Chatham, Kent, in 1864 and attested for the King’s Own Scottish Borderers in London on 31 May 1883, whilst currently serving with the 3rd (Militia) Battalion, Royal West Surrey Regiment. He served with the Regiment in India from 21 February 1885 to 2 November 1889, and in Burma from 3 November 1889 to 5 January 1891, and took part in the operations against the Chin tribe, 13 November 1889 to 30 April 1890. Returning home, he transferred to the Army Reserve on 17 February 1891, and was discharged on 30 May 1895, after 12 years’ service.
