Patrick English was a native of Waterford, Ireland. He served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion, Royal Irish Regiment on the Western Front (wounded). He was entitled to a 1914 Star with clasp, British War and Victory Medals, all of which were returned in February 1925, and then re-issued.
