Harry Crosby was born in 1889, and prior to the Great War had 2 years service with the Royal Australian Garrison Artillery. He served with the 1st Australian Siege Battery as part of the 36th Australian Heavy Brigade, Australian Field Artillery in the French theatre of war.
Crosby suffered multiple wounds to his arms, face and hands, 8 May 1918. He returned to Australia in April 1919, and was discharged in July of the same year.
