Korea, Democratic People’s Republic, Order of Friendship, First Class set of insignia, comprising neck badge, 86mm including National Emblem medallion suspension x 56mm, gilt and enamel, Juche torch of friendship to centre, surrounded by wheat stalks, with ‘bow tie’ riband and neck riband with ornate retaining clasp; Star, 57mm, gilt and enamel, Juche torch of friendship to centre, surrounded by wheat stalks, with pin-back suspension, with riband bar with torch device, all housed in fitted case of issue the front of which is embellished with the National Emblem of the People’s Democratic Republic, nearly extremely fine, extremely rare (2) £800-1000

The Order of Friendship was instituted by Chairman Kim Il Sung in July 1985, and comes in two classes, together with an associated medal. It is awarded only to foreign nationals.
