Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 2nd issue, large letter reverse (No. 1043. Private George Seath 1 Batt. Rif Brigade.) engraved naming, fitted with replacement ring and silver bar suspension, very fine £120-160

Provenance: M. Haines Collection, December 2002.

George Seath was born in Stetting, near Canterbury, Kent, and attested for the Rifle Brigade at Dover, 17 October 1832. He served overseas in North America, Malta and the Ionian Islands, and at the Cape of Good Hope, and is entitled to the medal for the 2nd and 3rd Kaffir Wars. He was discharged on 17 June 1854, unfit for further service, having been awarded his L.S. & G.C. medal in March of that year.
