James Simons attested for the Royal Engineers in Edinburgh on 3 December 1951 and served with 64 Field Park Squadron in Korea from 1 May 1953 to 12 December 1954, returning to the U.K. on the troopship Orwell. He was discharged to the Reserve on 31 January 1955.

Sold with the recipient’s Regular Army Certificate of Service Red Book; Soldiers Record and Pay Book; two letters written by the recipient to his mother; three photographs; and the recipient’s medal riband bar.
