William Murray attested for the Northumberland Yeomanry on 8 October 1914, and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 26 January 1915. He was discharged on account of sickness on 3 March 1916, and was awarded a Silver War Badge.

Joseph Stott was born in Wrekenton, Co. Durham, and attested for the Northumberland Yeomanry at Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He served with them during the Great War, before transferring to the Northumberland Fusiliers, and was posted to the 12th/13th Battalion. He was killed in action on the Western Front on 8 October 1918, and is buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, France.
