Arthur Thomas Christer was born in September 1865, and enlisted at Hounslow on 20 November 1883. He served 24 years including 16 years in India, his time in Tibet, Gibraltar for one year and Egypt for two. He was awarded a Gratuity of £10 for service with the Tibet Mission Escort in 1904. He re-enlisted in April 1915 and was attached Infantry Records for employment as a Clerk. Not entitled to Great War medals. He died on 12 March 1949.
