Pair: Corporal J. Whiting, Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry

Joseph Whiting was born in Bermondsey, London, and attested for the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry at the city of his birth in August 1894. He advanced to Lance Corporal in April 1896, and served with the 2nd Battalion in South Africa, November 1899 - July 1902. Whiting transferred to the Army Reserve as a Corporal in July 1902, and was discharged 12 August 1910. Whiting died as a result of Pneumonia and a heart attack, 14 December 1910.
