Robertson, 93rd. Highlanders); India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Umbeyla (3511 Pte. J. Robertson 93rd. Highrs.); Turkish Crimea 1855, British issue (No. 3511 James Robertson 93d. Highlanders) contemporarily engraved naming, plugged, with Crimea-style suspension, minor edge bruising to first, generally nearly extremely fine (4) £700-900

James Robertson was born in Dundee and attested for the 93rd (Sutherland) Highlanders on 6 February 1855. He served with the Regiment in the Crimea, in India during the Great Sepoy Mutiny, and in the Umbeyla campaign, and was discharged in 1872.

Note: Two men with the name ‘James Robertson, 93rd Highlanders’ appear on the latest published transcript of the Indian Mutiny medal roll, both two clasps awards for Relief of Lucknow and Lucknow.
