Nurbeer Sahie served with the 2nd Gurkha (Sirmoor Rifle) Regiment during the Second Afghan War, and was slightly wounded by gunshot at Jagdalak, 18 December 1879. The Regiment suffered 9 other ranks killed and 2 Officers and 30 other ranks wounded in this action.
