A.R.R.C. London Gazette 9 February 1960:
‘In recognition of distinguished service in Cyprus.’

Helen Margaret Cookson was commissioned a Flight Officer in Princess Mary’s Royal Air Force Nursing Service, and served in both Malaya and Cyprus, being awarded the Royal Red Cross Second Class in February 1960. She was promoted Squadron Officer on 1 April 1962, and retired on 13 September 1974.
