General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Bomb & Mine Clearance 1945-49 (2 Lt. D. A. Coney. R.E.) extremely fine, rare to an officer £800-1200

Derek Arthur Frederick Coney was born in Greenwich, London, on 16 April 1926 and was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Engineers on 4 July 1948, serving with No. 2 Bomb Disposal Squadron, based in Richmond Park, London. He relinquished his commission in 1951 and was subsequently employed as a civil engineer in Dar es Salaam, Tanganyika. He died in Shaftesbury, Dorset, on 14 May 1979.
