Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 7 clasps, Cape Colony, Tugela Heights, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal, Orange Free State, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 (2226 C. Bayley, R. Welsh Fus:) clasps mounted in order listed and not confirmed, official correction to surname, some edge bruising, otherwise better than very fine £140-180

Charles Bayley was born in the Parish of Oswestry, Shropshire, and attested for the Royal Welsh Fusiliers at Wrexham on 8 October 1888, aged 18 years 5 months, a telegraphist by trade and with previous service in the 2nd (Volunteer) Battalion, Shropshire Light Infantry. He was appointed Bandsman on 16 January 1899, and Lance-Corporal on 22 December 1900. He was discharged as Lance-Corporal on termination of his 1st period of engagement on 7 October 1907. Sold with copied attestation papers (incomplete). Clasps not confirmed.
