George Pike was a native of Eccles, Lancashire. He served during the Great War with the 16th (Service) Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers (2nd Salford Pals) in the French theatre of war from 23 November 1915. He subsequently transferred to the 10th (Service) Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers.
