A silver open faced Boer War presentation Pocket Watch, by George Birley & Co., Worcester, the white enamel dial signed, with black Roman numerals and centre sweep seconds hand, the movement signed and numbered ‘No. 91737’, the reverse (inside case) inscribed ‘Presented to Segt, H. J. Rowley, I.Y. by friends at Martley, in commemoration of his services in South Africa 1900-1901’, the outer case with engraved monogram ‘HJR’, hallmarked for Chester 1896, and stamped TPH and numbered 161154, watch diameter 53mm, apparently in working order and good condition £200-300
