A rare South African Naval Contingent group of six awarded to Sub-Lieutenant C. T. Gordon, South African Naval Forces, who in H.M.S. Sirius took part in landings at Algiers, Oran, Salerno, Anzio, and at Normandy on D-Day

One of only 114 France and Germany Stars awarded to a member of the South African Forces.

C. T. Gordon served as a Sub-Lieutenant with the South African Naval Forces during the Second World War, and saw action during the D-Day landings, 6 June 1944, in the cruiser H.M.S. Sirius, having previously taken part in the landings at Algiers, Oran, Salerno, and Anzio.

Sold with the recipient’s Naval Uniform, comprising tunic complete with riband bars and trousers; the recipient’s full and miniature width riband bars; South African Flag; an H.M.S.
Sirius Christmas Card 1945; a group photograph, together with one of H.M.S. Sirius, these both glazed and framed; and ten additional photographs.
