R.E.’; a National Rifle Association Prize Medal, bronze, unnamed; and the recipient’s Royal Life Saving Society Proficiency Medal, bronze, the reverse engraved ‘S. R. Brown. Sidney Reginald Brown was born on 20 August 1906 and served during the Second World War with the Royal Engineers. Advanced Warrant Officer on 22 May 1942, he subsequently became an In-Patient of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, and died in Chelsea in December 1989.
