The Prince of Wales’s Own (West Yorkshire Regiment) 1st Volunteer Battalion Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet c. 1887 - 1901, a good quality example, the blue cloth skull complete with all plated fittings, crowned star frontal plate with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of red cloth the White Horse of Hanover with scroll above ‘Nec Aspera Terrent’, a double scroll at the bottom ‘The West Yorkshire Regiment’ ‘1st Volunteer Battalion’, the plate is original to the helmet, buff leather sweat band with crimson silk lining, small stitching fault to the chin chain lining, very slight buckling to the front peak trim otherwise very good overall condition £360-460
