New Zealand 1845-66, reverse dated 1863 to 1864 (Henry White. Private R M. H M S Curacoa) officially impressed naming, good very fine £500-600

Henry White was born in Southampton in 1835 and enlisted in the Royal Marines at Winchester on 25 April 1854, having previously served in the Hampshire Militia from October 1852. Posted to H.M.S. Hastings on 14 February 1855, he served in her during the Baltic campaign (entitled to Medal), and was promoted Corporal on 31 July 1856, before reverting back to Private on 21 June 1857. Posted to H.M.S. Curacoa on 24 April 1863, he served during operations in New Zealand, before taking his discharge on 26 February 1867, after 12 years and 149 days’ service.
