Captain Arthur Peter Godman, 1st Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, was killed in action in France on 25 May 1940. Son of Air Commodore Arthur Lowthian Godman, C.M.G., D.S.O., of Smeaton Manor, Northallerton, Yorkshire. He is commemorated by name in the Comines (Komen) Communal Cemetery, Belgium.
