Narain Singh was born on 1 July 1881 and graduated from Veterinary College on 17 April 1911. He served during the Great War with the 12th Cavalry, and joined the Indian Army Veterinary Corps on 23 June 1918, serving with No. 17 Field Veterinary Section. He was promoted Risaldar on 1 April 1925 and served at the Veterinary Hospital in Bangalore. He was promoted Risaldar-Major on 1 July 1931, and retired in March 1936.

Lal Khan graduated from Veterinary College on 29 March 1917. He served during the Great War with the Supply and Transport Corps as part of the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force, and was Mentioned in Despatches (London Gazette 21 February 1919). He joined the Indian Army Veterinary Corps on 16 July 1918.
