John Reeve Pearl was born in Great Warley, Essex, on 6 April 1894, and attested for the Essex Yeomanry on 26 September 1914. He served with the Yeomanry during the Great War on the Western Front from 30 November 1914, and was discharged on 30 August 1918, ‘no longer physically fit for War service.’ He was awarded a Silver War Badge. He died in Colchester, Essex, on 21 May 1958, and is buried in St. Mary’s Churchyard, Stoke-by-Nayland, Suffolk.
