Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Cape Colony, South Africa 1902 (37808 S.Sth: J. Williams. 27th Bn: Imp: Yeo:) extremely fine £70-90

John Williams was born in Beaumaris, Anglesey, in 1880 and attested for the Imperial Yeomanry at Shrewsbury on 3 January 1902, being promoted Shoeing Smith on 4 January 1902. He served with the 123rd Squadron, 27th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry in South Africa during the Boer War from 1 May to 19 October 1902, and was discharged at Aldershot on 26 October 1902, after 297 days’ service.
