Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 1 clasp, Cape Colony (9573 Pte. G. Dobbin, 54th. Coy. 13th. Imp: Yeo:) suspension claw loose, heavy edge bruising, good fine £80-120

George Dobbin was born in Banbridge, Co. Down, Ireland, in 1869 and attested for the Imperial Yeomanry at Belfast on 15 January 1900. He served with the 54th (Belfast) Company, 13th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry in South Africa during the Boer War from 6 April 1900 to 6 December 1901 (additionally entitled to Orange Free State, Transvaal, and South Africa 1901 clasps), and was taken Prisoner of War at Lindley on 31 May 1900. He was discharged at Shorncliffe on 2 February 1902, after 2 years and 19 days’ service.
