Thomas Henry Blake attested for the Suffolk Regiment on 24 February 1898, before transferring to the 3rd Battalion, Royal Fusiliers on 19 December 1898. Posted to the 1st Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, on 14 September 1899, he served with them in India and Burma from 1899 to 1905, before transferring to the Army Reserve on 12 December 1907. He was discharged on 23 February 1910, after 12 years’ service.
