Edward Robert Thompson attested for General Brabant’s Colonial Division on 26 February 1900, and served in the 2nd Regiment, Brabant’s Horse under Lieutenant-Colonel H. M. Grenfell during the siege of Wepener. He was discharged on 15 October 1900.
