Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal (5534 Pte. E. W. Westwood. E. Lanc: Regt.) contact marks, nearly very fine £80-120

Ernest William Westwood was born in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, in 1879 and attested for the East Lancashire Regiment on 20 November 1897, whilst currently serving with the 3rd (Militia) Battalion, East Lancashire Regiment. He served with the Regiment in South Africa during the Boer War from 13 November 1900 to 24 November 1902, before transferring to the Army Reserve on 16 May 1904. He was discharged on 29 November 1909, after 12 years’ service.
