Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, undated reverse, 1 clasp, Tamaai (H. Miles, Pte. R.M. H.M.S. Euryalus.) heavy pitting from star, nearly very fine £260-300

Harry Miles was born in Islington, London, on 10 March 1863 and enlisted in the Royal Marines at London on 10 July 1880. Posted initially to the Depot, he transferred to No. 40 Company, Chatham Division, on 9 April 1881, and was posted to H.M.S. Euryalus on 28 December 1883. He served during the Sudan Campaign in 1884, and was present at the Battle of Tamaai, 13 March 1884. He transferred to the Plymouth Division on 19 August 1890.

Approximately 47 ‘Tamaai’ clasps to H.M.S.
Euryalus and rarer still as a single clasp.
