Waterloo 1815 (Michael Braun, 1st Line Batt. K.G.L.) fitted with original steel clip and ring suspension, extremely fine £1800-2200

Michael Braun enlisted and was approved at Plymouth to join the King’s German Legion on 19 November 1812. He joined Captain August Saffe’s 9th Company of the 1st Line Battalion at Bexhill on 7 January 1813 (Captain Saffe was subsequently killed in action at Waterloo). After an initial period at Bexhill and Hilsea, he went to France in August 1813 and thereafter served in France and Belgium, including the battle of Waterloo. Upon the disbandment of the Legion, Braun was discharged with two months full pay on 24 December 1815.
