D. E. Springell previously served in the Royal Navy as an Able Seaman in H.M.S. Glory in both Korea and Malaya (entitled to a Korea, U.N. Korea, and Naval General Service Medal with Malaya clasp).
Sold together with a torn Secretary of State for Trade enclosure; and an invitation named to ‘Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Springell’ from the Directors of Ferrymasters Limited ‘for a reception to mark the return to service of m.v. Elk and the safe return from the Falklands of the ship and her company.’
