Confirmed on the roll as one of only seven ‘Nigeria 1918’ clasps issued to the Nigeria Civil Service, including H.E. The Governor.

Henry Thomas Butler Dew, B.A. (Lond.) was born on 9 June 1988, and joined the Colonial Administration, Southern Nigeria, 31 July 1912, as an Assistant District Officer. He was Political and Intelligence Officer during the 1918 military operations, serving under fire in Abeokuta and Ijebu-Ode Provinces. He was promoted Resident Class 1 in 1929 and left the service in April 1932. Sold with copied medal roll entry and several Nigeria Gazette extracts.
