Military General Service 1793-1814, 6 clasps, Busaco, Fuentes D’Onor, Ciudad Rodrigo, Salamanca, Pyrenees, Toulouse (Dugald McIntyre, 42nd Foot.) lower carriage slightly bent, light marks, otherwise good very fine £1800-2200

Provenance: Spink 1902 and 1907; Captain Stewart’s Collection 1913; Blair Collection 1937; Sotheby, November 1981; Glendining’s, June 1991; Spink, May 2003.

Dugald McIntyre’s name appears on the list of additional claims via the colonies. He enlisted into the 2/42nd at Glasgow on 24 February 1808, and joined his battalion on 25 March following. He transferred to 1/42nd on 25 May 1812, and was discharged on 31 October 1814. No discharge papers survive for him but as he missed the actions of Nivelle, Nive and Orthes, he may have been one of the 30 casualties of the regiment in the Pyrenees. Sold with copied muster lists.
