J. K Youens joined the Army in August 1998, and was posted for service with the 1st Battalion, The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment). Having advanced to Lance-Corporal, Youens was discharged 10 March 2006, having served 7 years, and 206 days with the Colours.
