Sold together with two small silver shields, the first engraved ‘P.R.D.G. 1891 For Tent Pegging S.S.M. Quann A. Troop.’; the second engraved ‘Presented to Troop Sergeant Major J. J. Quann by the Non Commissioned Officers and Men 3rd. Squadron 7th. Dragoon Guards on his Marriage 23rd. March 1892’; and a letter written to the recipient’s wife by her sister, dated 8 October 1940.
