Charles Walter Clements attested for the East Kent Regiment at Faversham, Kent, on 18 April 1911, and served during the Great War on the Western Front from 9 February 1915, first with the 1st Battalion, and latterly with the 6th Battalion, with whom he was awarded the Military Medal. Advanced Sergeant, he was discharged on 12 September 1919.

Sold together with the named enclosure for the Silver War Badge.
