A Danish silver brooch by Anton Michelsen, circa 1950s, designed by Gertrude Engel, modelled as a stylised lilypad with detachable gilt flowerhead, the reverse stamped ‘Sterling Denmark’, with maker’s mark to and facsimile signature ‘Rougee’, length 5.5cm. £60-80

Gertrude Engel worked for Anton Michelsen during the 1950s, signing herself ‘Rougee’ on her work. Her designs were based on plant forms, found along the Danish coast.
