South Africa, Cape UNIFORM BANKNOTE, proofs on card for front and back of Twenty Pounds, both with pencilled dates ‘Nov. 1891’, printed by Perkins, Bacon for the Cape Government, front blue, back black [2]. Front with several small punch-holes and both with traces of mount marks on back, extremely fine (£400-500)

The Government supplied uniform notes to the African Banking Corporation, Bank of Africa, National Bank and Standard Bank
